The Hidden Sikkim

Day 1: Bagdogra - Gangtok
Pick up from Bagdogra airport/ railway station and drive to Gangtok, Gangtok is the capital of the state of Sikkim. It is a charming and silent destination with one of the best monasteries and landscapes. Arrive and check in at the hotel. Evening at leisure or you want explore famous MG Marg if time permits. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Gangtok - Tsomgo Lake - Baba Mandir Excursion
After breakfast go for an excursion trip to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir which is nearly 40 kilometers / 2 hrs approx. Tsomgo Lake is oval shaped lake nearly 50 feet deep - Generally covered in snow for most of the year the year – This lake is home to the Brahmini ducks & many migratory birds – Nearby is the sacred Baba Mandir known to be a very holy site for all -Nathu La Pass to Republic of China is nearly 20 kilometers and is optional tour – Later in the evening back to Gangtok. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Note –Nathula is optional with supplement cost . Nathula permit gets confirmed 24 hrs prior to the journey date & it is subjected to permit availability . Nathula is closed on Monday & Tuesday for tourists. Organizing the permit at the last moment is not possible & a clear window of 72 Hrs with proper documents is required to process the permit. 4 Passport Size Photograph & photo proof identity is required to process the permit .Permit once done done will be non-refundable ,whatsoever reason reason may be ( Like Personal / Landslide, Heavy rainfall, VIP Movement, Health issue etc)
Day 3: Gangtok - Lachen (135 Kms/4-5 hrs)
After an early morning breakfast, we drive to Lachen. It is a 135 km long drive which should take 5-‐6 hours to complete. 96 km into the journey, comes Chungthang where we will stop for lunch. We cover the rest of the journey to Lachen. The main attractions of Lachen are the snow-‐capped peaks, Shingbha Wildlife Sanctuary, Gurudongmar Lake, Chopta Valley and Thangu. We then check into the hotel, have some tea and then visit the Lepcha Village. Overnight stay in Lachen.
Day 4: Lachen - Gurudongmar Lake - Lachung
After breakfast take a 3 hours drive for Gurudongmar Lake . There is a valley here through which a River called Lachen Chu flows. It is known as the Holy Lake and is covered in snow for 9 months, or more. We drive through a cold dessert until we reach the Tibet-‐China border. Then we make our return journey for lunch. Post lunch, we leave for Lachung which is 50 km away. Evening is free for resting. Overnight stay in Lachung.
Day 5: Lachung -‐ Yumthang Valley & Zero Point Excursion (Optional Tour)- Gangtok
Post early morning breakfast, proceed to Yumthang Valley which is Known as Valley of Flowers (11800 Ft / 3598 Mts / 25 Kms / 1 ½ hours one way) and Zero Point, further up and about 23kms from Yumthang at an altitude of over 15,000 ft is the place Zero Point (also known as Yume Samdong) On the way back, visit Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Have lunch & move to Gangtok. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Day 6: Gangtok- Darjeeling
After breakfast check out from the hotel & take a leisurely drive to Darjeeling – One of the most spectacular Hill station in India. Darjeeling is famous for its snow capped peaks of Kanchenjunga, Lush green Tea gardens, Word’s Heritage Toy Train etc. Arrive and check in at the hotel. Evening relax at hotel or roam around at Mall road. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 7: Darjeeling Local Sightseeing
Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (at around 4 am) to view sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak (subject to clear weather). On the way back, visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. Afternoon, go for a half-‐day sightseeing tour of Padwaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Tenzing & Gumbo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-‐Help Center (Closed on Sunday) & Tea Estate. Overnight at Darjeeling Hotel.
Day 8: Darjeeling - Bagdogra
After breakfast drop at Bagdogra airport or railway station with sweet memories of your trip.
