Meghalaya with Kaziranga
Day 01: Arrival at Guwahati – Kaziranga
Welcome on arrival at the Airport/Railway Station. After greetings drive straight to Kaziranga. Reach Kaziranga by evening, check-‐in to your hotel & later visit nearby Tea Estate. Overnight stay in the hotel at Kaziranga.
Day 02: Kaziranga - Shillong
Early morning (5:30 am) explore central Range of Kaziranga National Park on Elephant Safari. On return explore the eastern range on a jeep safari (optional), Later We will proceed to Shillong. After arriving at Shillong check in at the hotel Later overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03: Shillong to Cherrapunjee
After breakfast, proceed to visit Laitlum canyons. Later start your journey towards Cherrapunjee with lush green mountains viewing numerous waterfalls falling all over on route to Cherapunjeee. En-‐route visit, Shillong Peak &Elephant Falls, named after an Elephant like stone at its foot, the Elephant Falls are amongst the most popular falls in the North-‐East.Upon arrival at Cherrapunjee, visit Seven Sisters Falls & amazing Eco Park. Overnight stay in the hotel at Cherrapunjee.
Day 04: Cherrapunjee Excursion
Early morning (5 AM) your journey (Optional)to Double Decker Root Bridge, deep in the dense tropical forest of Meghalaya is must visit destination known for its numerous waterfalls. It’s 3000 step journey (Trek) down the hill and the trek starts from Tyrna Village (10 Kms from Sohra, Cherrapunjee). The aprox. time to complete the journey(both ways) is 5-‐6 Hrs. After returning from double decker Root Bridge, have lunch & then proceed to visit Nohkalikai Falls, the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Mawsmai Cave, Nohsngithiang Falls&Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama. Overnight stay in the hotel at Cherrapunjee.
Day 05: Cherrapunjee – Mawlynnong – Dawki – Shillong
Today early morning, start your road journey to Mawlynnong. Mawlynnong was awarded the prestigious tag of ‘Cleanest Village in Asia’ in 2003. Visit Root Bridge & Bamboo Bridge. After Mawlynnong, you will start your journey to border town of Dawki, a hidden paradise. The driver will keep getting you closer and closer to the Bangladesh plains which you had first spotted from Mawlynnong Village. Umngot River in Dawki is crystal clear & is considered one the cleanest rivers in India. You can enjoy boat ride in the river. Later in the evening return to Shillong for overnight stay.
Day 06: Shillong - Guwahati
After a wholesome breakfast, start your day tour &visit Don Bosco Museum, Lady Hydari Park, Ward’s Lake, Air Force Museum. After lunch proceed to Guwahati & en-‐route visit the Umiam Lake & Beadon Bishop View Point. Upon arrival at Guwahati, check in at the hotel. In the evening you can view the stunning sunset view at Brahmaputra River. Later check in at the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 07: Departure
In the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel & proceed to visit Kamakhaya Temple. Later we will drop you at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for the drop. Your arrival at the Airport/Railway Station will mark the end of the tour with unforgettable memories of Assam & Meghalaya.
